ELVIS QUOTE:
“I didn’t have enough money to do the record over, so I decided to let it stand as it was. I figured if nobody else liked the thing, Mom would anyway, and she did.”
ELVIS TRIVIA:
What year did fans start leaving graffiti on the walls of Graceland?
ELVIS HISTORY:
Fall of 1954
After the Grand Ole Opry Elvis was a little shook up, but he went into the Sun Studio and recorded Good Rockin’ Tonight and it became a hit. For the time being, he made appearances in grocery stores and record shops. He also played the Eagle’s Nest. His picture appeared in the local newspapers and for the first time kids who knew Elvis in school both in Tupelo and Memphis were amazed to find out he was a kid they knew. One childhood friend remembered that Elvis would sit up in a tree with a broom and pretend he was playing the guitar. The friend said, “Lordy. He went pretty far with that broom.”
