Elvis appears for the first time on the Louisiana Hayride, broadcast live from Shreveport. Since the show doesn’t pay them (Scotty, Bill, and Elvis) enough to get back to Memphis, they had to play a few small clubs in Texas for gas money.

Best Laid Plans again. My daughter, JayeDee, has pneumonia and I am sitting with her, my dachshund, Broom Hilda, and her Corgi, Conan—and without Internet again.

I saw a recipe for Grilled Stuffed Jalapenos and have decided to try my hand at this healthy appetizer. Both dogs are trying to help.

RECEIPE OF THE DAY:
COOK: 2 bacon strips until crisp, drain, & crumble
COMBINE AND STIR: ½ cup cream cheese, ½ cup fat free cream cheese, softened,
¼ cup extra sharp cheddar, shredded, ¼ cup minced green onions, 1 tspn lime juice, ¼ tspn kosher salt, & 1 garlic clove
FILL: 14 seeded jalapenos, halved lengthwise, with above ingredients
COAT GRILL: with cooking spray
COVER PEPPERS AND GRILL: 8 MIN
SPRINKLE WITH: 2 Tbs chopped cilantro, & 2 Tbs chopped seeded tomato

These are yummy. You can stuff them ahead of time, cover and refrigerate until party time. This recipe is easy if you don’t have two dogs to step over.
