For the first time, Elvis has a song on the Billboard chart outside Memphis (Blue Moon of Kentucky) Elvis is booked on The Old Barn Dance. He still doesn’t think he will last more than two or three years as a singer. Elvis sang for the opening of a new shopping center at Airways and Lamar in Memphis. The show draws a huge crowd of teens and is MC’d by George Klein (also of Humes High) a DJ at a small Arkansas station.

I had planned to do a million things today, but my daughter, JayeDee, was admitted to the hospital. I am sitting with the dogs when not at the hospital and reading the Reader’s Digest and the South Beach Diet book. One recipe that sounds do-able is the Vanilla Ricotta Crème. It has 14 g. of protein and 178 calories. Mix three ingredients: ½ cup part-skim ricotta cheese, ¼ tsp vanilla, 1 pkg. sugar substitute. Chill. Serves one.
