Elvis Blog – Post #43

DATELINE: Amelia Island (near Jacksonville, Florida)
Remembering Friday 7 September 2012

ELVIS QUOTE:
“That boy can go! I think he has a great future ahead of him . . . and the way he plays piano just gets inside of me.” Who was Elvis talking about?

ELVIS TRIVIA:
What comedian and actor said he had a jukebox that plays all Elvis records?

ELVIS HISTORY:
5, 12 & 19 February 1955
Elvis’s made appearances on Louisiana Hayride. Earlier in month he had given two shows at the Memphis Auditorium and partied all night. Gladys was afraid that this lifestyle would destroy Elvis. She warned that he was going to Hell.

AMELIA ISLAND, FLORIDA:
Friday 7 September 2012
Son-in-Laws are the world’s greatest invention. One of mine (Peter) and both my daughters, Jayme and JayeDee, came up today at 4:30 to install a new microwave oven in my kitchen and a new dehumidifier in my garage. We had planned to go up to Sliders for dinner afterward, since it was only going to take thirty-minutes . . . at about eight o’clock, JayeDee, who has the patience of a gnat, (do I have to say she’s an Aries?) ordered a pizza and we decided to go to Sliders to have dinner and hear the Macy’s another day. The microwave looks great and everything works. Without Peter, I would still be heating up my cold coffee on top of the stove. I am blessed.

JOKE OF THE DAY:
Female patient:
“I have heart problems, high blood pressure, diabetes, dandruff, arthritis, gout, warts, diarrhea, restless leg, and many more ailments, but at least I don’t drink.”
Doctor:
“You should.”

Halloween Candy:

This was printed in Family Circle October 2012 as Maple-Nut Candy.

TIP OF THE DAY:
Dining-room table scratches: For cherry or mahogany, use iodine. For other wood, rub with a pecan or other oily nutmeat or use peanut butter. Olive or vegetable oil also works. On dark wood, use a paste shoe polish. Buff with a soft clean cloth.
