Elvis Blog – Post #45
DATELINE: Amelia Island (near Jacksonville, Florida)
Remembering Sunday 9 September 2012
ELVIS QUOTE:
“No sir. I don’t have aspirations in . . .” What was Elvis referring to?
ELVIS TRIVIA:
Who said, “Elvis, you’re guarded better than the President?”
ELVIS HISTORY:
15 February 1955
Colonel Parker used an elephant’s satin blanket-coat to advertise Elvis’s show. The former circus manager used dancing dogs, yelping hogs, and according to Parker, dancing chickens, to attract attention to Elvis. The dancing chickens part is probably his joke.
AMELIA ISLAND, FLORIDA:
Sunday 9 September 2012
My daughters and I went to brunch at the Ramada and then saw the movie Lawless. Wow. We are huge Guy Pearce fans—ever since Priscilla Queen of the Desert—and he was excellent as always. We were blown away by Shia LaBeouf’s performance. The movie was pretty violent, but nobody was bored, believe me. Very exciting.
JOKE OF THE DAY:
A man points to two old drunks sitting across from him in a bar and says his friend. “That’s us in ten years.”
Friend: “That’s a mirror.”
