Elvis’s performances started to sell out, much to the delight of Colonel Parker. Girls screamed, pushed, and yelled for Elvis. He claimed to be lonely away from home. Many girls offered to provide comfort.

Tuesday is the day I should be going to Beans’ Dance Studio but I am getting a new dishwasher installed instead. What fun. What’s the old saying about things happening in threes? My appliances went out in sevens—my dishwasher, coffee pot, dehumidifier, microwave, printer, my answering machine (it only picks up in the back bedroom), my laptop—and my double-sided window failed. These are all eight years old or less. I want that automatic house Ray Bradbury wrote about in 1950, There Will Come Soft Rains, based on a Sara Teasdale poem. I am still playing catch up with my blogs. After this month I will be only blogging periodically because I must get my manuscript ready for the Ancient City Romance Authors’ Boot Camp in October. The phenomenal Debra Dixon will be there (Goal, Motivation, and Conflict). I hope to have some guest bloggers in October.

RECIPE OF THE DAY:
Make-Ahead Meatball Sliders:
You’ll need:
16 dinner rolls, 1 jar each spaghetti sauce & prepared pesto, 1 ½ lb bulk Italian sausage, 16 cubes of part-skim mozzarella
Divide sausage into 16 portions
Stuff a cube of cheese into each
Place on greased rack on shallow baking pan
Bake 25-30 min at 350 degrees
Place on paper towels
When ready to serve, heat sauces on med, stir occasionally, add meatballs
Stir very, very gently
Serve on rolls

TIP OF THE DAY:
Paint sopping down into your paintbrush? Wrap 2-inch wide masking tape tight around the brush handle, covering ½ inch of the bristles at the base. Extra paint won’t collect at the brush base.
